Introducing:
Kathy Hoffman
About Kathy:
I have been married to my husband for 43 years. We have 3 grown children, 3 grandchildren and 2 bonus grandchildren.
I used to teach elementary school in San Diego until I met and married my husband the Naval Officer. We have lived in 5 different states including Hawaii. We now live in Virginia (too close to DC...lol) where he has retired from the military after 23 years and another 28 years as a military contractor.
I started painting door hangers about 2 years ago for fun. KCH Laser door kits make it easy and always look great after painting! I guess my advice to anyone starting out is trust the process. My projects always look better after I put down the brush and walk away for awhile. I have no training with painting but I watch a lot of Youtube! I like the whimsical look in painting as it doesn't have to be so perfect. I just keep trying and eventually I'm satisfied.
I enjoy painting so much and I'm always excited to start a new project. I spend my mornings trying to decide which one is next and then I'm off to pick the colors. That is one of the hardest parts for me so I always like looking for inspiration from those that already painted it.
I don't sell my door hangers but I am running out of room as to where to put them. I give some away to neighbors and family which helps storage a little bit. Lately I have been thinking of starting an Etsy shop. My daughter and I used to sell hairbows in a shop called Cora's Cuties years ago. My shop would be called Hangin' with Kathy so look for it soon!
